Wyoming CNA Renewal

When's the window?

October 1 through December 31, 2026. That's it. Three months. The portal won't let you in early and it definitely won't take pity on you after New Year's. Mark your calendar.

How much does it cost?

The state charges $50 plus a $1.20 online processing fee. Total damage: $51.20. This checker tool right here? Completely free. The fifty bucks goes to the Wyoming Board of Nursing, not us.

Three ways to prove you still got it

Wyoming gives you three paths to show you're still competent. You only need one:

  • Employment hours: At least 400 paid hours as a CNA in the past two years. Volunteer doesn't count. Ask your employer to verify.
  • Continuing education: 40 hours of approved CE. Keep your certificates. They can audit you.
  • Competency exam: Passed a state-approved exam within the past two years. Basically a do-over of the skills test.

What if I miss the deadline?

Your certification lapses. Full stop. You can't legally work as a CNA in Wyoming until you reinstate. That means extra paperwork, extra fees, and possibly retesting. Nobody wants that. Don't be that person. Set a reminder above and handle it in October.
